SIMPLE PAPER DOILY TUTORIAL

Hello~! Have you heard of doily before? Doily is usually used as a mat that is made from fabric or crocheted thread. These doilies are commonly used for jewelery and food photographs. It makes everything look feminine and sophisticated with a vintage-feel. Today I wanna show you how I made my very own doily from scrap paper. Remember when we're kids and we used to make those connecting paper dolls? It's pretty much the same with doilies.

Here's one example of the original doily I got from the internet. You can achieve this kind of design with lots of patience. But today, I will only be showing you the basic on how to make one. It depends on you if you wanted it to look this good. :D

So you'll be needing a pair of scissors, square paper and a pen (optional). I already took photos of the steps so you can follow it easier. The photos are self explanatory so I won't say anything else. XD If you get confused, you can comment anytime. I'll be sure to reply to your comments. :)

You can make doily with different types of papers and in different sizes too. Use colored papers or even the ones with textures! Feel free to color or draw on them. Each doily is unique. You can use doilies for decorating your notebooks, gift wraps and all sorts of stuff.

Share this craft with your kids. I'm sure they'll enjoy it too! :)

Do you find these kinds of posts interesting? Please let me know in the comment box! :) Also, you can post your craft project to my facebook page so people can see it too! :D
